Regatta Weekend - 14th and 15th July 2018: Racing in the firth and on the bay
Findhorn Week - 16th -20th July 2018: A mix of competative and relaxed sailing, child friendly atmosphere, great socials and stunning location offers something for everyone.
Over recent years we have been pleased to have sailors taking part from five to eighty years of age and from complete beginners to several Scottish National champions with a range of boats from optimists to Musto Skiffs and 49'ers and everything in between. With this unique blend and the picture postcard setting Findhorn week is not to be missed.
Findhorn week starts with the annual regatta over the weekend of 14th and 15th July followed by a sailing week .
The regatta is open to all classes. There are 2 race courses one for the faster boats and more experienced sailors on the open sea of the Moray Firth and a second course for the slower boats and less confident sailors on the confines of the large bay. The bay is tidal with a narrow entrance to the sea and is better described as a large tidal loch of several square miles.
The sailing week is a more relaxed sailing event with racing on each day. There are 2 courses both in the protected confines of Findhorn Bay one for the main regatta fleet and a novice course area aimed at children who may be racing for the first time. The fleet is split into classes for the week who race on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to decide the best sailors who take part in a winner takes all trophy race on the Friday. There is a second best of the rest race for those who do not qualify for the Four seasons Trophy.
